Accra, July 21, GNA- Professor Margaret Kwaku, a former Municipal Chief Executive of the Hohoe Municipal Assembly, has picked and filed nominations to battle five others in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Hohoe Constituency of the Volta Region.
The five others who also filed their nominations are; Mr Kingsley Mortey, a Statistician and Information Technologist; Mr T.K Dzimegah, a legal practitioner; Mr Francis Dimake, a former constituency executive and government appointee; Mr Simon Kanyagoe and Dr Kennedy Ahorsu, a peace and security expert.
The contestants are vying to replace Dr Helen Adiku Heloo, the current Member of Parliament, who decided not to contest.
Mr Kingsley Mortey after filing his nomination in an address described himself as competent to lead the NDC in the 2020 general elections in the constituency.
He touted achievements of the current Member of Parliament and said he was poised to continue her good works.
Mr Francis Dimake also said his commitment to the Party and the crucial roles he played at the grassroots showed his preparedness to serve and win more votes for the NDC.
He said the effective way to bridge the gap between party executives was giving the mandate to a « true grassroots person » who had served the people, understood their problems and was willing to offer effective solutions.
Nominations were filed on behalf of Mr T.K Dzimegah and Dr Kennedy Ahorsu.
