Porto Novo, Jul 23 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, Tuesday in Santo Antão suggested the need for a “coordinated process” of island planning, taking into account “horizontal matters” such as the airport and expansion of the Porto Novo port.
Ulisses Correia e Silva spoke at the presentation of the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development of the municipality of Porto Novo, which highlights, among other projects, the construction of the airport and extension of the dock, infrastructures “to serve the entire island of Santo Antão” .
In the opinion of the Head of Government, what is outlined in this strategic plan, which is in line with the Cabo Verde’s Strategic Sustainable Development Plan, is “valid, even in this current context”, marked by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“What is outlined in the plan in relation to Santo Antão is valid, even in the post-COVID-19 period. What we are going to do now is mobilizing resources in a difficult context ”, said Ulisses Correia e Silva.
