Praia, Jul 30 (Inforpress) – The leader of the MpD (ruling party) parliamentary group (GP), Joana Rosa, said Tuesday, referring to governance, that the country has a “good and very competent government”, so with his “head held high”.
“The State of the Nation is characterized in two moments: The first moment, which goes from 2016 and early 2020, and the second moment of March 2020, with COVID, until this part”, said the leader of the Movement for Democracy GP, highlighting the “broad confidence” Cabo Verdeans placed in her party, which, as she stressed, “is the only one that has already shown how to better govern the country”.
Joana Rosa, who was speaking at a press conference, following the parliamentary meetings, which precede the last State of the Nation of the present legislature, regretted the PAICV Government, in 2016, had left the country “in agony and, despite so many resources, failed to grow the national economy”.
“The economy started to grow six times more, unemployment fell to 11.7% (per cent), public debt fell to 115%, household income increased”, she said, adding that, with the policy measure of employment, professional training was massified, having benefited “about 24 thousand young people”.
