Praia, Aug 3 (Inforpress) – Nine neighborhoods in the city of Praia will start from this Monday, the 3rd, the summer camps, an initiative of the first lady, Lígia Fonseca, whose objective is to create safe spaces for the children in the communities.
According to a press release, this action comes after an assessment of the existing constraints reported by community associations and NGOs.
The summer camp, according to the same source, is aimed at children aged 6 to 14 in the neighborhoods of Safende, Calabaceira, Alto da Glória, São Pedro, Achada Eugénio Lima, Paiol, Coqueiro, Fonton and Várzea, so they can spend their free time for a week, thus reducing the negative impacts of isolation on children.
During the summer camps, a citizenship education lecture will be organized on COVID-19, alcohol consumption, human rights, oral hygiene and gender equality. The program also includes reading encouragement with the children’s writer Natacha Magalhães, reading dynamics with Rony Moreira, playful activities with Tikai, itinerant painting studio with Tutu Sousa and Leontina Ribeiro, as well as visits to the Amílcar Cabral Memorial and the Presidency of the Republic
