Praia, Sep 8 (Inforpress) – The three bathing beaches in the municipality of Praia (Kebra Canela, Prainha and São Francisco) will have lifeguards to ensure safety for bathers from Thursday, 10th.
The information was gave by the commander of the Praia Firefighters, Celestino Afonso, in statements to Inforpress in the scope of the reopening of the beaches as of this Monday, after more than five months closed to avoid agglomerations of people in times of COVID-19 pandemic.
“Usually in the summer time, the beaches would have lifeguards, but due to the situation caused by the new coronavirus pandemic, everything was closed, so with the reopening of the bathing season on Monday, we are not prepared to offer this service yet”, admitted the same source.
According to Celestino Afonso, the beaches in the municipality of Praia will only have lifeguards as of Thursday, 10th. Meanwhile, he stressed that people should pay attention to the flags, information symbols, about the state of the sea, which, according to him, it’s not in favor of bathing after the rains on Saturday that brought several garbage to the margin.
