Praia, Oct 12 (Inforpress) – The IEFP’s president, Paulo Santos, revealed today that in the first quarter of 2020 the data in terms of insertion of young people in training programs, internships and entrepreneurship, were “much higher” than the same period 2019.
According to the president of the Institute of Employment and Professional Training (IEFP), the current year (2020) would be to consolidate the previous year results, remembering that in 2019 almost 24 thousand young people benefited in all active employment policies.
“Taking into account the current situation, the dynamics were very strong, in which the unemployment rate decreased by 10%, so it was on the way to consolidating the gains achieved in 2019”, told Paulo Santos.
In 2020 the goal was to benefit around 10 thousand young people in training and in professional internships, since with the internships many young people got jobs, but he admitted that with the pandemic many went into unemployment because “some companies closed the door ”. Aware that the crisis caused by COVID-19 will impact the labour market and unemployment will increase, the official admitted that the IEFP will continue to work.
