BARCLAYVILLE, Oct. 14 (LINA) – In fulfillment of his campaign promise to help improve the learning environment, Grand Kru County Senator Albert Chie has provided financial assistance to three public schools in Trehn Statutory District to help address some of the challenges impeding learning at the county’s schools.
The beneficiary schools, Stanford Dannie, Behwan and Garraway Central high schools, received thirty-three thousand Liberian dollars each as operational funds to ease some of the financial burdens and enhance learning at the schools.
Making the presentation on behalf of Senator Chie’s Office to Grand
Kru County education authorities in Behway, the county’s Assistant Superintendent for Development, Joe Sekpeh, said the donation was part of Senator Chie’s financial assistance to the county.
The Grand Kru Development Superintendent indicated that the financial aid to the three public schools is geared towards buttressing the Government of Liberia’s budgetary support to the schools in terms of operational cost.
Presenting the cash to the three public schools in Behway recently, Grand Kru County acting Education Officer Gabriel Joboe, celebrated Senator Chie for his continued contributions to the education sector of the county, and urged other lawmakers and well-meaning citizens to emulate the good example of the Senate Pro-Tempore Chie.
Mr. Joboe described the lawmaker as “one person who does not renege on promises he makes.”
In response, Stamford Dannie High School Principal Emmanuel Dunbar praised Senator Chie and assured that the money would be used for the intended purpose.
Also responding to the donation, the acting Principal of the Garraway Central High School, Simeon Jeh, extolled Superintendent Sekpeh for his commitment to the office of the lawmaker.
He praised the local education stakeholders for always recognizing the institution, something which was never done by past leaders.
Mr. Jeh also said that Senator Chie’s contributions to the education, health, security and other sectors have already paved the way for his reelection in 2023, as he will always be remembered for his good gesture towards the people on the local and national scenes.
In remarks, Trehn Statutory District Superintendent Alphonso Amaje Siaka commended the Grand Kru County policymaker, describing him as “one with the true character of a leader,” owing to his tangible development projects that have touched almost all parts of the county.
