Praia, Nov 20 (Inforpress) – The Mayor of Ribeira Grande (Santiago) considers that he has fulfilled his mission over the three terms in office and pointed out indicators that the municipality has now become a leader in the national ranking.
In an interview with Inforpress, Manuel de Pina explained that in the past 12 years the municipality has ceased to be one of the poorest in the country to become part of the middle or top of the national table and indicates water supply, as the “big gains” for the Ribeira Grande de Santiago.
He also listed other gains such as school transport, which he says is the first in the country, “very well positioned in terms of sports infrastructure”, as well as squares, green spaces and urban redevelopment, and described the work as “extraordinary” achieved in terms of social housing, claiming that other municipalities have followed in his footsteps.
“These are milestones that remain in history”, stated the president of the National Association of Municipalities of Cabo Verde, who was convinced that he left the municipality “very well served, almost 100 percent, in terms of electricity, despite of not being a matter for the City Hall ”.
