Citizens Call For More Support To Bong Team After Loss To Cape Mount

  13 Janvier      107        Sport (12592),

GBARNGA, Jan. 11 (LINA) – Citizens and residents of Bong County have attributed the defeat of the county soccer team, the Kpatawee Boys, to the lack of financial and logistical support from inhabitants and local officials.

They are therefore calling for more support to empower and encourage the team.

The citizens and residents are also complaining that the appointment of Mr. Jonah N. Tokpa to head sporting activities for the 2021 County Meet was ‘wrong on grounds that he already has a huge national responsibility as Administrator of the Bong County Health Team.

According to them, Mr. Tokpa might not be effective in the discharge of his duties as head of Bong County Sports because his engagement with the health sector needs serious concentration, something that will not allow him to adequately function as administrator of sporting activities.

The Kpatawee Boys Football Team of Bong County Sunday went down to Grand Cape Mount County one goal to zero in the preliminary rounds of the 2021 National Sports Meet, while the girls won three to two home runs.

Bong County is placed in Zone Two of the 2021 County Sports Meet along with Grand Gedeh, Grand Bassa and Grand Bassa Counties.

The match was played on Sunday, January 10, at the David Kuyon Sports Pitch in Gbarnga, and is part of the preliminary rounds that qualify teams in their zones for the next stage of the ongoing county meet.

Sunday’s defeat places the Kpatawee Boys in a very difficult position as the team will now be required to compulsorily win its next two matches, including the game against Grand Bassa County on Wednesday, January 13.
