ZWEDRU, Jan. 11 (LINA) -The Liberia Marketing Association (LMA) General Superintendent for Grand Gedeh County, Madame Etta Wahblo Tweh, has appealed to financial institutions to provide micro-credit to boost the marketing sector at the county level.
Speaking recently at the Zwedru Central Market currently under rehabilitation by WHH, a German development partner, Madam Tweh expressed delight over the work being done at the market, though delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
She expressed thanks and appreciation to the government for restoring safety measures to ease travels.
She told LINA that with the refurbishing of the facility well on course, all that is needed is financial support to improve customer services and public consumption.
Asked if any request has been made to potential financial entities, she said the Liberia Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI) is studying some requests, but the marketers need other investors with different types of business inyerest.
Tweh underscored the need for public transport to easily move the goods and services of marketers to market sites on market days across the county, lamenting that transport fares are currently too high.
