Accra, April 15, GNA – Jacob Dickson, is a 22-year-old Ghanaian boxer who made his debut in 2018 and has far wons all his five fights since turning professional.

Dickson, who fights in the Super Middleweight division trains at the popular Bronx Gym at James Town in Accra, Ghana under the tutelage of experienced coach Carl Lawrence Lokko, who is on record to have discovered and nurtured former International Boxing Federation (IBF) champion Richard Commey.

For the young boxer, his only dream is to become a world champion and is convinced he has what it takes to realize that dream.

According to Dickson, the Bronx Gym is one of the best boxing training centers in Ghana, as they have produced a world champion and many local champions in the past and he was counting on that rich profile to have the needed guidance to succeed.

« My aim is to become a world champion and i am having the right training here at Bronx Gyp to realise that dream.

« My coach Lokko is as a strategist who knows much about the game and business of boxing.

« He has over the years raised boxers like Laryea (Expensive), Felix (Alvaro), Kpakpo Allotey and others who are potential world-beaters and I am happy to join this rich tradition, » he added.

Dickson said boxers must not rush or put pressure on managers and coaches, but when the right time comes nothing can stop the opportunity of becoming a champion.

He urged Ghanaians to comply with the presidential directives of staying at home at this pandemic COVID-19 era and train coolly as it is real.

“We need to take care of ourselves as future champions and see our families alive. I am pleading with boxers in Accra, James Town and Bukom to abide by the protocols and stay home. God’s time is the best,” he said.

Dickson, who now has a new image and brand may be moving up from the Super Middleweight to the Cruiserweight division.
