Accra, Dec. 15, GNA – Accra will host the 2018 edition of the Regional Agriculture Innovation and Business Fair from December 17 – 19.

The three-day meeting on the theme; « Regional Fair for Industry Uptake of Agricultural Technologies in West, » is being organised by the African Observatory of Science, Technology and Innovation (AOSTI) of the African Union Commission (AUC) in collaboration with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Science and Technology Policy Research Institute (CSIR-STEPRI).

Dr Emmanuel Kodjo Tetteh, Senior Research Scientist, CSIR-STEPRI, made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Friday in Accra.

About hundred participants from the ECOWAS would be attending the meeting.

Dr Tetteh said the main aim of the fair was to showcase agricultural technologies made in the ECOWAS and to create a network of innovation practitioners in order to drive innovative research and innovation diffusion for industry up-take at the national and regional levels.

He noted that the Fair was expected to provide the opportunity for exhibiting local marketable innovations, and to build the interest of entrepreneurs ready to adopt and promote agricultural technologies and innovations.

Dr Tetteh, who is the Coordinator of the Fair, said it was also expected to facilitate the institutionalisation of a network of innovation practitioners and business entrepreneurs.
