Adhere to protocols to curb the spread of COVID-19, public urged

Takoradi, April 10, GNA – Mr Fredrick F. Faidoo, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Takoradi Constituency, has appealed to the public to adhere to the protocols prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO), Ghana Health Service (GHS) and government to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 in the country.
He said the protocols which include regular handwashing with soap under running water, using alcohol-based hand sanitizers, avoiding handshaking, social distancing and avoiding overcrowded places were the surest ways to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.
The parliamentary hopeful made the appeal when he presented quantities of Veronica buckets, hand sanitizers and liquid soap amongst others to the Takoradi NDC Constituency office to be distributed to identifiable groups within the constituency.
He said the donation was the party’s widow’s mite to support the fight against the spread of the COVID -19 in the region.
Mr Charles Nanabayin Rabbles, Takoradi NDC Constituency Chairman, who received the items on behalf of the constituents, commended the aspirant for his continuous support and promised to distribute the items evenly in order to help stop the spread of the disease.
He reminded the people to adhere to personal hygiene while the government and the medical practitioners also play their part to help stop the spread of COVID 19 pandemic so that the country can return to normalcy.
