Advans Ghana crowned the Best Company in Charitable Giving

Accra, Dec. 6, GNA—Advans Ghana Savings and Loans has been adjudged the Overall Best Company in Charitable Giving at the 2019 Sustainability and Social Investment Awards (SSIA).
The Savings and Loans Company was nominated in two categories at the awards event, which took place in Accra, under the theme: “Celebrating Impactful Brands and their Sustainable Legacies”.
The SSIA is an initiative to create awareness, encourage companies, Corporate Social Initiatives (CSI) or CSR foundations, NGO’s and other implementing agencies in delivering high impact CSI/CSR projects that align with government’s focus on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Mr Olivier Bailly-Béchet, the CEO of Advans Ghana, with Mr Alhassan Salley, the Head of Partnerships Development, represented the Institution and picked up the award.
In a release to the Ghana News Agency, on Thursday, it said the CEO of Advans Ghana, commended the staff for continuously availing themselves for social commitments.
It was through their collective efforts, he said, that Advans Ghana stood out of the crowd of many organisations to win the award.
He stated: “The award is a demonstration of the strong importance Advans Ghana attaches to being accountable and building awareness of social and environmental issues amongst the employees, clients, partners and the communities in which the institution operates.
“Advans will continue to invest in impactful activities as a result of having Social Responsibility completely integrated in the Company’s values, corporate governance, budget, reporting and actions”.
Advans Ghana is a subsidiary of the Advans Group, headquartered in Paris, with a presence in nine countries in Africa and Asia. It serves more than one million clients.
In Ghana, Advans operates in 20 branches across eight regions, with the head office located in Accra-Newtown.
Its mission is to provide client-centric financial services to small businesses and under-served populations in a sustainable and responsible manner.
Between 2018 and 2019, the Savings and Loans Company implemented many Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) activities throughout its network branches across Ghana.
It provided assistance to the leprosarium, hospitals and educational institutions. It also sponsored health screening services, market cleaning actions and tree planting exercises to compensate for the company’s yearly paper consumption. It also has a partnership with the Royal Seed Home orphanage and donated garbage containers, among others items, to institutions.
The SSI Awards is conceptualised to publicly recognise the impact made by companies, enterprises, institutions and individuals through exemplary success in voluntarily improving the quality of life of people and communities with various categories, such as Sustainable Development Projects, Educational Sponsorship Projects, Community Development & Infrastructure Project, Sanitation Facilities, Environmental Sustainability Projects, Sustainable and Social Investment Projects.
