Anglican Men’s Fellowship Roundup weeklong celebration in Bolga

  18 Juin      42        Société (45024),

Accra, June 17, GNA –The Men’s Fellowship guild at the Saint Cyprian Anglican church in Bolgatanga has ended a weeklong celebration to Commemorate activities of the Fellowship in the Church.
The celebration which is nationwide and an annual activity will give the guild the opportunity to assess its activities and plan for the next celebration.
The celebration which begun last Sunday saw members of the Fellowship undertaking several activities including health talks and screening, Bible sharing events symposiums on roles of members in the Church among others.
In a sermon to crown the activities on the theme:“Church Unity”, Mr Hilary Akoka, a Lay Preacher and member of the Fellowship said “unity brings some freshness to recipients. There is always order in people who are united”.
He observed that disunity in Christendom gives the devil some responsibility of pride and hope to keep dominating God’s children.
According to him, as a church working to grow Christ’s fellowship, it was incumbent on the congregation to foster unity as Christians and remain resolute in the service of Christ and humanity and said the life of Christians must reflect the oneness Christ assumed with his father in Heaven.
He said God’s promise in John 14 encourages Christians to be united in order to benefit from the privileges promised by God to man to have dominion over the enemy. “People of God, let us surrender our lives to Christ to benefit from his grace”.
Venerable Cannon Dennis Tong, Parish Priest of the church, reminded the parish members to pray unceasingly as the Tamale Diocese of the church begins the search for a new Bishop as result of the demise of the Diocesan Bishop, the Right Reverend Dr Jacob Kofi Ayeebo.
He announced that the Bishops Nomination Committee of the church had already been constituted to help in the search for a new Bishop and urged members of the congregation to focus their prayers on asking God to choose the right leader for the church.
