Anlo chief to MTN-Improve Social Responsibility support

Accra, Nov 09 (GNA) – The Anlo Traditional Council has urged mobile telecom giant, MTN-Ghana, to improve on its social responsibility support package to Ghanaians as its fortunes expanded.

Togbe Edihoo II, Dufia of Xorvi and Planning Committee Chairman for this year’s Hogbetsotso-Za (Migration Festival) of the people of Anlo, made the call on Thursday at Anloga, when receiving a package from MTN towards the festival.

The support included a cheque for GHC3,000.00, GHC500.00 Airtime, a drink hamper and assorted souvenirs.

There were other social support scheme offers, such as a health walk, MTN chill zone at the Aborigine Beach Resort and Data Activation.

Togbe Edihoo, thanked MTN for partnering the people in marking the festival since 2013, to showcase its rich culture.

The theme of the festival this year, climaxing with a durbar on Saturday, is Unity, Progress and Development.

Togbe Edihoo asked all Ghanaians to embrace unity and peace, which was the cornerstone for the development of all areas and the country.

Mr. David Boadi, MTN South-East Ghana Business District Senior Manager, said as an African origin company, MTN was interested in helping to protect and promote the Ghanaian traditional and cultural heritage to unite all areas and the country together.

He said MTN was currently celebrating attainment of its 15 millionth customer milestones and thanked the Anlos for their support in making the company to consolidate its market leader position.

Mr. Boadi announced a series of packages by MTN to reward it numerous customers.
