Praia, Apr 20 (Inforpress) – The athletes Samuel Freire and Edena Lima were the winners of the athletics event “2021 Nhô São Salvador do Mundo”, in commemoration of the patron saint who was announced today.
The race, which honored the local athlete José Varela, had about 48 participants from all the municipalities of the Santiago Island and was held this Friday, 16th, by the City Hall of San Salvador do Mundo, departing in Pata Brava and arriving at Achada Igreja.
In the men’s event, the Cabo Verdean athlete from Benfica de Portugal cut the goal, followed by Wilson Cabral (second place), Gil Mendes (third), António Cardo (fourth) and Keven Neves (fifth).
In the women’s event Edena Lima, she won the “2021 Nhô São Salvador do Mundo” race, sharing the podium with Adalgisa Varela, from Tarrafal, and Jussara Xavier, from Santa Catarina, in third place.
