Black Stars Captain Andre Ayew calls on President Akufo Addo

Accra, May 27, GNA – Andre “Dede” Ayew Captain of the senior national team, the Black Stars on Friday, paid a courtesy call on the President, Nana Addo Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Ayew, who is currently on holidays in Ghana, and is expected to join the Black Stars to prepare for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), qualifiers against Madagascar on June 1, used the opportunity to interact with the president on affairs of the national team and their preparation for national assignments.

The Black Stars Captain, who plays for Al Sadd in Qatar presented a customized jersey to the president.

Ayew has been in Ghana for the past week and has been training personally ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Madagascar and the Central African Republic (CAR).

Ayew, 32, is one of the 33 players invited by Ghana head coach Otto Addo for the first phase of the qualifiers for the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Ayew, won his first league title in his career and his second trophy with Al Sadd after winning the Emir Cup in his debut season with Al Sadd in Qatar.

He joined the Qatari giants in July 2021 as a free agent and put pen to paper on a two-year contract.
