Praia, Dec 2 (Inforpress) – The Executive Secretariat Coordination Committee to Combat AIDS (CCS / Sida), today made a “very” positive assessment of the HIV / AIDS treatment in Cabo Verde, especially after the adoption of the “Diagnose / treat” program that increased the rate of diagnoses.
Celina Ferreira spoke to Inforpress, within the framework of the World AIDS Day, which is celebrated today, December 1st, under the theme “Global solidarity, shared responsibility” in honor to the victims of COVID-19, especially people living with HIV and that victims of the new coronavirus pandemic have been threatened.
“The ‘Diagnose / Treat’ program was a great gain and we are going to maintain it, because with this program we started to include people diagnosed early in the treatment,” she said, stressing on the other hand that today people living with HIV have conditions to live normal life expectancy, like other people, as long as they take care of their health.
And so that people living with HIV take better care of their health, Celina Ferreira, said that CCS / Sida, in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, continued the program and adapted it developing activities with services provision for pregnant women, groups vulnerable, sex workers and others.
