Chief Commends for sustaining free SHS Programme’

Onwe (Ash), June 15, 2019, GNA -Nana Asokwa Danka-Gyeabour II, Chief of Onwe in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region has commended the NPP government for the bold decision for the implementation of the Free Senior High School Programme in the first year.
He also urged government to do everything possible under their purview to sustain the laudable programme.
Nana Danka-Gyebour, who made this commendation in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Onwe explained that the government needed to be commended for fulfilling a mega campaign promise.
He said the fact government did not wait to implement the promise during the campaigns for other elections was commendable.
He stated that the Free Senior High School Programme was one of the best and the most popular educational programme that government of Ghana had ever implemented as it was capital intensive.
Nana Danka-Gyebour, appealed to both the school authorities and teachers to give out their best to make the programme a success and urged parents whose wards were beneficiaries of the programme to support it by providing their basic needs.
He also entreated the contractors and suppliers to be honest in their activities by avoiding bribery and corruption.
