Chief pleads for the clearing of garbage

Accra, Dec. 7, 2017, GNA – Togbe Agah Saniaglo, the Ewe Chief of Sapeiman has appealed to the Ga West Municipal Assembly to clear the heap of garbage in the area to relieve the residents of health problems.
He said the refuse, which is in the centre of the community had caused unbearable stench, generated hordes of house flies and insects and had resulted in diseases.
Togbe Saniaglo made the plea in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Thursday at Sapeiman, near Amasaman in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
He said the situation had become unbearable and critical since the residents had to be frequenting the hospital for treatment and called for immediate steps to be taken by the Assembly to remove the garbage.
According to Togbe Saniaglo, six persons had cholera and were rushed to health facilities and called on the Assembly and other relevant authorities to undertake a spraying exercise to prevent the spread of diseases.
