COVID-19: Artur Correia praises Government measures that contributed to delay the evolution of the virus

Praia, Aug 27 (Inforpress) – The National Director of Health, Artur Correia, pointed out that the prevention and control measures adopted by the Government contributed to “prevent and delay” a “more accentuated” evolution of the virus in the country.
Artur Correia made this intervention during the usual epidemiological update press conference in the archipelago, remembering that the measures “were not to end” the virus, but rather, “to avoid greater evils”.
As he pointed out, in relation to the City of Praia there is a record of stagnation, in about 250 weekly cases, however, at national level “rose slightly”, with two peaks in the last two weeks.
In a global view, he pointed out, the country “is not getting worse”, but “everyone needs to be aware” that there is a pandemic that will continue and will probably reach other islands that have not yet registered any case.
