Mindelo, Aug 27 (Inforpress) – The director of the National Center for Handicrafts and Design (CNAD) told the press that the Cabo Verde Handicrafts Fair, Urdi 2020, will take place in all municipalities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Irlando Ferreira, this year they decided to restructure Urdi because of the pandemic, but there are some projects in which it has not moved with its essence, such as the design competition in which the creative person creates within his own space.
But for the fair, a new model of the national handicraft circuit was designed to make a connection between the public and artisans, on all the islands, he told. This to avoid crowded at Praça Nova in São Vicente.
Applications for this competition will run until September 20. The announcement of the selected proposals will be made in September 25, the execution of the projects takes place until the November 11 and the opening of the Created Hall in Cabo Verde in November 26.
There will be the signing of a production contract between CNAD and the authors selected for the marketing of the pieces, after the closing of the show, and the creation of the the Created Hall in Cabo Verde catalog.
