Accra, Nov. 2, GNA – Dr. Kwame Baah Nuakoh, General Manager, Sustainability, of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), has advised the youth to develop their God-given talents, as it can turn out to be their profession or career.

Speaking at the induction of four athletes into the GNPC Speedsters Club, he recalled how his love for athletics got himself into sports management at OWASS in Kumasi by washing jerseys of athletes and how his passion for football earned him coaching job in the University of Ghana football team.

According to Dr. Baah Nuako, he was the first sports presenter / producer at Radio Universe, and later became an Executive Member of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), board member of Asante Kotoko and now with GNPC.

Dr. Baah Nuakoh said, nothing comes easy and urged them to be disciplined and take their training regimes serious.

He assured the inductees of GNPC’s support for them to enable them to realize their dreams of becoming world sprint champions.

Mr. Rex Brobbey, founder of the GNPC Ghana Fastest Human Concept introduced the new inductees; Edwin Gadayi, the West African 100m champion, Idrisu Musah, U18 champion, Raymond French, a new discovery and Grace Obour, the new upcoming flying queen.

He said, it was time Ghana finds its lost glory in the short distance events and his team in conjunction with the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) and the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) would come out with a strategy on how to qualify for the 4 x100m relay for the first time in 22 years and shine at Tokyo 2020 and beyond.

Mr. Brobbey said, the inductees would be based in Kumasi and train under specialist doctors and coaches who would watch monitor their diet and progress.

The former Olympian was optimistic that by 2020 Ghana would have a pool of about 18 great sprinters who are going to shock the world.
