Accra, Sept. 13, GNA – Dr Kofi Amoah, head of the Ghana Liaison team, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Ghana Normalization team, selected by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) and the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) to manage the affairs of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

He would be assisted by Madam Naa Odofoley Nortey (Vice Chairman), with Mr. Dua Adonteng and Madam Lucy Quist as members.

The four-member team, is expected to complete its work by March 31, 2019.

The team, has been given the mandate to supervise the activities of the GFA, review and reform the GFA rules and statutes, in accordance with FIFA statutes and also supervise election of new officers for the GFA.

Mr Luca David Nicole, who represented FIFA, made this known at a press briefing at the GFA Secretariat.

He noted that, FIFA has the mandate to annul the powers of the normalization team as well as add up when it becomes necessary.

« FIFA reserve the right and power to revoke any member from the committee and also to add up, when necessary, there should be one or two more members to be added but that would be later after passing the eligibility and integrity test with FIFA ».

According to Mr. Nicole, the team must submit to FIFA and CAF monthly reports of activities and happenings in the country for verification and monitoring and a forensic accounts of all financial dealings.

Mr Veron Mosengo Omba, Director, Member Association for Africa Caribbean, congratulated the Government of Ghana for the swift and diplomatic way with which they dealt with aftermath of the Anas expose that brought football activities in Ghana to a halt.
