Education Director rewarded with building plot

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), July 16, GNA – Mr. Isaac Nsiah-Edwards, the outgoing Dormaa Central Municipal Director of Education, has been rewarded with a building plot of land for his meritorious services and contribution towards the improvement of education in the Dormaa Central Municipality.
Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, the Paramount Chief of Dormaa Traditional Area, gave Mr. Nsiah-Edwards a plot of land with the option to choose whether he wanted to build in Dormaa-Ahenkro or Sunyani, in addition to a cash amount of GhC2,000.00 .
Barimah Yeboah Kordie, the Aduanahene of Dormaa, announced on behalf of the Paramount Chief during a send off party organised by the Municipal Directorate of Education in honour of the Director, who was being transferred to Techiman also in the Brong-Ahafo Region, on Sunday at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
The well-organised event was attended by people from all walks of life including friends, family members, colleague educationists, politicians, the media and the general public.
He worked for one and half years in Dormaa West District and has been in the Dormaa Central since the past three and half years.
Mr. Idrissa Ouattara, the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), praised his can-do spirit and positive attitude towards work, exhibiting punctuality and discipline, and urged all to emulate him.
He lauded the efforts of Mr. Nsiah-Edwards in helping to advance quality education delivery in the Municipality and promised to accord similar support to the in-coming Director to continue his legacies.
Mr. Gordon Asubonteng, the immediate past MCE for Dormaa Central commended Mr. Nsiah-Edwards for his dedicated services to the Municipality and appealed to teachers nationwide to be highly devoted to their duties to improve on the quality of standard of education in the country.
Mr. Yaw Armstrong Asante, the Head of Supervision, Dormaa Municipal Education Directorate, in a welcoming address eulogized Mr. Nsiah-Edwards for his initiatives that brought about significant improvement in the standards of education in the area.
He cited the positive effect which was demonstrated through the general improvement in the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) results from 33.1 per cent to 89.79 per cent particularly within the last two years.
Mr. Isaac Nsiah Edwards in his farewell message expressed gratitude to the current and former MCEs for the support accorded him during the tenure of his stewardship.
He also thanked institutions such as the Wamfie Rural Bank and the Dormaa Area Teachers Cooperative Credit Union (DATCCU) for their respective assistance that enhanced the lives of teachers and consequently improved education in the Municipality.
Mr. Nsiah Edwards made an appeal for the completion of works on the six-bedroom for the Municipal Director Education, as he rented an apartment with high rent charges and faced persistent threats of ejection.
Individuals and institutions presented gifts in cash kind as well as citations of honour to the out-going Director.
