MONROVIA July 15 (LINA) – The Ministry of Education in collaboration with partners has procured Teaching and Learning Materials (TLM) for the 707 Senior High Schools that are currently administering the catch-up classes for 12th graders in preparation of the upcoming West African Senior Secondary Certification Examinations (WASSCE).

The exams are scheduled to begin in Liberia on August 17 and end on September 2, 2020.

The ceremony signifies the official launch of the distribution process which is currently going on across the 15 counties for all 707 Senior High Schools.

About 139 Public Senior High Schools will benefit from health kits while all 707 both Public and Private schools will benefit from learning materials (pens, sheets, poster, etc).

Additionally, through support from the World Bank, the Ministry of Education is providing health kits for Private Schools beginning with the 568 Senior High School and to eventually extend to all 4000 Private Schools across the country.

The Ministry encourages parents to fill the gap of helping to enforce the health protocols and guidelines at the schools in their communities. Meanwhile, a team of monitoring and evaluation officers are scheduled to embark on a mission to assess the impact of the distributed materials and equipment.
