ZWEDRU, Jan. 25 (LINA) – Rigid corrective measures await any school that fails to abide by COVID-19 safety measures, Grand Gedeh County Education Officer Harry D. Doe has warned.
Doe disclosed that a task force has been constituted to enforce compliance of all public, private and mission schools across the county to begin operations after submission of registration details.
One school identified as Faith and Victory Elementary School has been shut down for operating in a church building, contrary to guidelines set by the head of the County Service Center School License Registration, Joe C. Bardio, he told the Liberia News Agency (LINA).
He said this action was taken against the school in Zwedru following several warnings and a grace period without compliance.
The school license/registration head has also suspended enrolment at all school level due to misinformation about the COVID-19 Virus with negative effects on the county school system.
There are ninety-one public, private and mission schools in Grand Gedeh County, according records reviewed by LINA, with the permission of the School License Registration head who, he said, should comply with registration guidelines and new fees set for nursery, kindergarten, elementary, junior and senior high schools.
