Election materials are set for general polls – E.C.
Suhum (E/R), Dec. 5, GNA – The Electoral Officer for the Suhum Municipality in the Eastern Region, Mr. Moses Adawe Zimwura, on Thursday told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that all materials needed for voting on December 7, have arrived.
He stated that all other officials from presiding officers to returning officers were equally ready to execute their electoral responsibilities in the 158 polling centres in the Suhum Constituency.
Mr. Adawe Zimwura explained that his outfit has started evacuating COVID-19 materials to the centres, to ensure strict adherence of the protocol against the deadly disease.
The Electoral Officer stressed that any other necessary precautionary measures had been put in place to help eliminate all tendencies that may turn to militate the smooth flow of Monday’s presidential and parliamentary polls.
He called for peace to prevail and asked Ghanaians who have attained “voting age” to abide by the electoral laws, to enable the will of the people to prevail in the 2020 elections.
Mr. Adawe Zimwura reminded the electorate that the country had scored high marks in the international arena for holding peaceful, democratic and transparent elections and therefore urged them to ensure peaceful 2020 general elections.
