Ensure peaceful Elections – CSOs urged
Akim Oda (E/R) Dec 05, GNA – The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Governance and Security have sensitised Ghanaians on the need to be calm and peaeful minded in all their endeavours to go to the polls on come Dec 7, 2020.
Nana Yaw Kesse the Eastern Regional Coordinator for Coalition of CSOs in Governance and Security speaking at a press conference held in Akim Oda said, it is the role of politicians to help party supporters with an understanding that they need to be alive before, during and after election to enjoy the fulfilment of their promises.
The conference which was on the theme : » Campaigning for peaceful election 2020 » was supported by the West Africa Center for Counter Extremism (WACCE) and Africa Centre for Security and Counter Terrorism (ACSTC).
Nana Kese also called on journalists to be exact in giving the results from the general election reporting.
To the aspirants, he called on them to process any dissatisfaction with the election outcomes officially by resorting to the necessary procedures as the constitution allowed.
Mr. Desmond Oteng the Eastern Regional Deputy Coordinator for Coalition of CSOs in Governance and Security emphasised on the importance of peace orientation before, during and after the election.
