Accra, Nov. 15, GNA – The list of nominees targeting recognition in various categories of the second edition of the prestigious Ghana Energy Awards is out.

Featuring prominently are several individuals, companies and institutions in both public and private sectors across the power, petroleum and renewable subsectors.

A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said the nominations cut across different categories of the awards including the Chief Executive, Energy Personality of the year, both male and female, industry leadership, business leadership, company and brand of the year.

As an industry initiative instituted in 2017, the Awards Scheme, endorsed by the Ministry of Energy and the World Energy Council Ghana, is to recognize stakeholders, organisations and institutions that contributed meaningfully toward the growth of the country’s energy sector while motivating industry operatives to attain global standards and excellence in their work.

It is organised by the Energy Media Group and CH-Business Consulting in partnership with the Energy Commission, Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD), Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMC) and the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) Ghana.

This year’s Awards has 19 categories for the various subsectors spanning petroleum, power, renewable, quality service and products, community engagement as well as compliance with industry regulations.

These give recognition to deserving organisations and individuals who have proven beyond doubt their innovation and excellence to the sector as well as national development.

The 2018 Ghana Energy Awards is scheduled to take place at the Movenpic Ambassador Hotel, Accra on November 30.
