Accra, May 6, GNA – The CEO of Mr. Albert Biga has been adjudged the E-commerce Entrepreneur for 2015 by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana, for kindling a vision that’s eliminated the dreadful traffic experience for many a shopper in Ghana.

The event, which was held at the State House, on April 29, 2016, saw a number of distinguished entrepreneurs from various business sectors honoured.

Albert, the ICT & Business Process Automation expert, whose 20 years practice spans Software Design and Implementation & Business Process Automation, said he was pleased with the accolade conferred on him.

His international experience across the sub-region with Intel Corp, Ford Foundation-West Africa, USAID/West Africa Trade Hub, the SOFTtribe, has, many believe, helped him to create a world-class brand at Zoobashop.

Albert has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematical Science from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Industry players have described Mr Biga as “a successful serial entrepreneur in the technology business eco-system” and praised his passion for creating relevant technology applications.

As a CEO, he played a pioneering role in the e-commerce industry in 2013, founding, Ghana’s Premier Online Retail Store.

History has taught us repeatedly; great leaders venture where everyone else has either completely ruled out or been too cautious to explore.

Ghana’s nascent ecommerce industry, prior to Zoobashop’s launch had a number of market enablers who provided virtual platforms for buyers and sellers to interact.

While the platforms, and by extension the products displayed are online, the actual transaction is done the conventional way.

Buyers and sellers alike had to physically move their monies and wares to an agreed location to conduct business.

Albert Biga, who has been following with keen interest, Ghana’s ecommerce terrain, affirmed his faith that an online store with a large variety of products, which could be paid for online, and delivered safely to a given address, would thrive in Ghana.

Therefore, he got four other young people who shared this vision, and assiduously started putting together.

Ghana’s first online retail store was thus launched with some 15 employees, but it saw very little traffic in the company’s first couple of months.

However, no company Albert Biga had started in the past had ever failed, and was certainly not going to be the first, not under his watch.

He got his team to remain focused and ensure that they played their parts in ensuring that every shopper’s experience was truly awesome.

In good time, as hard work always does, their efforts begun paying off.’s awesome shopping experience was soon, the talk of the town. It was amazing enough that there was a fully blown online store in Ghana, but one that appeared to unconditionally have the customer at heart, got many excited.

Millions of visitors and thousands of orders followed with Albert Biga and the team at zoobashop continually blazing the trail in e-commerce in Ghana.

So it didn’t surprise many, when was adjudged the e-Commerce Company of 2014, by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG), in August 2015. This award category had only just been created, making its first winner.

The Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana’s awards night, brought together to the State House, Ghana’s finest and most accomplished entrepreneurs, while the e-commerce entrepreneur of the year award clearly recognizes an individual’s efforts or feats for the year in review,

Albert Biga said he felt it was an award to share with his Zoobashop staff, while thanking the Zoobashoppers for their unwavering loyalty to their brand.

“I receive this award on behalf of the entire awesome team at, and we are mindful of the role our clients have played supporting this all Ghanaian team to be the best today,” he said.

Albert is married with three children. He loves to travel and watch soccer when he is not creating tech companies.
