Kaduna, May 6, 2019 (NAN) The Kaduna State Cricket Association on Monday said its team would soon embark on a training tour of Uganda for the players to have quality preparations ahead of the Cricket Series.

The association’s Head Coach, Joe Oche-Onoja, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna, Northwest of Nigeria that the tour would also help them to prepare for the World Cup.

“We are embarking on the tour to also prepare us for the National Cricket League.

“The Cricket Federation has a lot of grass roots development programme which are motivating, and we have to prepare to keep our spirit high.

“The association is doing all that is possible to prepare properly for the competition, because our success in it will go a long way in developing the sport,’’ he said.

The coach added that his team had been doing well lately, saying “there is no trophy in cricket in the country that we have not won.

“Presently, we are runners-up and champions in the boys and girls categories respectively.’’

He said the state association was working hard to motivate the cricketers and provide opportunities for them to play well in the competition.
