Accra, May 7, GNA – Ghana Premier League (GPL) side Asante Kotoko has signed a five-year bumper sponsorship deal with Star Life Assurance.

The deal worth GHC5, 000,000 makes Star Life Assurance the official insurance partner of Kotoko, and shall include both Life and Non-Life insurance.

The life products include Fabu WealthMaster Plan, Fabu Child Education Plan, Fabu Homecall Plan, Fabu Ultimate Protection Plan, whilst Fabu Moto Vehicle, Comprehensive Home Owners Insurance, Travel Insurance and Personal Cover Insurance are non-life products.

As part of the partnership, Star Life Assurance would support the club with the construction of the first phase of the Adako Jachie Training Complex with GHC 200,000 as well as the development of special insurance products designed as “Fabu Assurance”.

The life products are expected to fetch a commission of GHC 33,000,000 for the club.

Nana Yaw Amponsah Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko during the outdooring of the package said his out was excited with the deal and would do their best to derive the needed benefit from the deal.

“For us, we believe in offering our sponsors something substantial in return for their money. That is why we call it a partnership and not sponsorship,” he added.

According to Nana Yaw Amponsah, it is their responsibility to demonstrate to their partners the need to get maximum benefits from the relationship.

“Without benefits to both sides it becomes charity, not sponsorship,” he added.

Mr. Peter K. Nimoh Head of Individual Distribution of Star Life Assurance urged the general public especially fans of Kotoko to patronize the products.

He said this would help raise adequate funding for the club to support them in their quest to achieve more laurels whilst giving protection to those who patronize the products.
