MONROVIA, Jan. 30 (LINA) – The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has certified 40 young Liberians who completed the recent beginners referee course to serve as handlers of the game nationwide.
The LFA undertook the referee training course based on the necessity to meet the need of the Liberia Football Referee Association (LIFRA) to contribute to the development of the game a refereeing was a crucial component of any sport.
Speaking at the closing ceremonies, LFA President Mustapha Raji said the training was intended for young Liberians referees to understand the laws of the game and be sensitive in making positive decisions on the pitch.
Raji used the occasion to thanked all participants for their full cooperation and described the exercise as a worthy cause.
« I want to thank all of you for dedicating your time to this course. It is now left with you to implement what you have learned. We will be counting on you for domestic duties in the youth league, » Raji told the new referees.
LFA boss cautioned the newly-recruited referees to be focused whenever they are called to perform their duty, adding that the beginner referees should put in the required time if they are to progress as professionals.
