Praia, Dec 17 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, announced investments on Wednesday for the requalification of the sea port of Porto Inglês and pledged to create conditions to provide the island with the May an international airport.
Ulisses Correia e Silva made this communication at the signing ceremony of an agreement between the Government of Cabo Verde and the International Holding Cabo Verde representative, which took place on this day, at the Banquet Hall of the Government Palace.
“The island of Maio has been recognized for a long time with enormous potential, but we are going further than recognition, to make the best use of these potentials, with a return for dynamizing the economy, creating jobs and improving quality of life of the island’s people,” he said.
According to the Cabo Verdean executive, the “Little Africa Maio” tourist development project for the island of Maio is the largest investment ever made in the country, due to its value, reaching 500 million euros, and the impact on jobs, wealth creation, tax revenue generation, the location of international companies and attracting other investments.
