Praia, Nov 19 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Culture, Abraão Vicente, guaranteed that all the heritages are currently being rehabilitated also receive accessibility works to allow everyone to have access, regardless of their mobility conditions.
Abraão Vicente made this statement Tuesday on the sidelines of the opening act of the walkway at the São Filipe Fort, Cidade Velha, an initiative of the Cabo Verdean Federation of Associations of People with Disabilities (FECAD), in partnership with the Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC), as part of a program for access to culture in Cabo Verde and tourism development and representation of people with disabilities, funded by the European Union.
“All works have received rehabilitation at this time receive a schedule and the works already include access to all. Cabo Verde’s museums, some of them, are receiving works to promote access. Everything is heritage and cultural spaces is currently being adapted,” he said.
For example, Abraão Vicente cited the Convent of São Francisco, which has difficult access for people with mobility difficulties, and the Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário (all located in Cidade Velha), which, according to him, has already been created with these aspects.
