Accra, August 6, GNA – Andrew Nii Commey Otoo, also known as « Mr. Drew » has reiterated the need for underground artistes to brand themselves in a unique fashion to enable them thrive and succeed in a very challenging music industry.
According to the young music prodigy who has signed on to the « Highly Spiritual Music » record label, industry players can’t be blamed for the woes of various acts as it solely depends on the artiste to make things right from themselves.
In an interview with GNA Entertainment, the »Gimme Love » hitmaker said, « I don’t want to blame the industry for the plight of underground artistes, because we are all different in our own way and whatever one person is going through, the other might be different.
« It can also be that, the artiste is not doing something right or the other artist isn’t doing good music. Branding is also a key factor, you can do good music, but the branding might be bad, » Mr. Drew stated.
When quizzed about whether he has identified any threat in the music industry, Mr. Drew said, « I don’t think I have a competition because am different. We are all good in our own unique ways ».
Mr. Drew was part of the 2017 MTN Hitmaker music reality show during which he demonstrated his singing and dancing prowess which eventually earned him a contract with « Highly Spiritual Music » which is owned by renowned music producer »Kaywa ».
