NHIA attains target in three regions

  5 Décembre      53        Santé (15315),

Accra, Dec. 5, GNA – The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has achieved its target of 100 per cent client registration in the Bono, Bono East and the Ahafo regions for the third quarter of July to September 2019.
Mr Joseph Mensah, the Director of the Authority for the three regions, said this at a media briefing in Sunyani.
He said 1,474,332 clients were registered above the targeted figure of 1,453,810 for the three regions within the period.
He said the scheme has improved tremendously in the three regions, particularly in the payments of the hospital claims since 2017 and urged the general public to discard the misconception that the scheme is collapsing.
Mr Mensah said the NHIA has paid all service providers in the three regions up to February this year and is about to clear all outstanding debts.
He said the scheme has come to stay to help the public in health matters to ensure all clients enjoy quality health delivery in the region and the nation in general.
Mr Mensah urged the public and the media to visit any nearby office of the NHIA for clarifications of issues and information pertaining to its operations and progress.
He said that was necessary to protect the dignity of the Scheme, adding that the Authority had instituted a number of measures to curb corruption in the system for its continuous and efficient operation to benefit the populace.
Mr Mensah entreated the public to accept and patronise the electronic renewal (E-renewal) of registration to save time and money.
