Nigeria’s Para t/tennis players clinch 4 medals at ongoing Championships in Jordan

Abuja, April 10, 2019 (NAN) Team Nigeria Para- Table Tennis players have won four medals at the ongoing 11th edition of the Al-Watani Championships in Amman, Jordan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the medal comprises of three silver and one bronze.
The silver medalists are Tajudeen Agunbiade in  class 9 singles, Nasiru Sule in class 5 singles and Victor Farinloye  in class 8 men singles.
The lone bronze medalist for now is Ahmed Koleosho in the class 3 men singles.
Anderson Bankole,the handler of para athletes of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) told NAN by telephone in Ibadan, Southwest of Nigeria that the players were on the right track.
Bankole said that he’s impressed by their performance thus far and expressed hope for more medals.
« I’m impressed by their performance but off course they can do better. The tournament is still on going and there are rooms for more medals.
« They have started well and I believe with total focus and determination they can still do much better than they have done, » he said.
Bankole who is also a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), however, urged the players to continue with the good fight and not get carried away.
He said that they should play all matches cautiously and give it all their best.
« Dont get carried away or intimidated by anyone, you are all in the tournament to win and outshine one another.
« Be focus and put your mind in the game, » said the DCP.
NAN reports that six athletes are representing the country. They are Agunbiade, Sule, Farinloye, Koleosho, Faith Obiora and Olufemi Alabi. (NAN)
