Assomada, Aug 3 (Inforpress) – The Assomada Customs Delegation, in the municipality of Santa Catarina, today completes one year of its reopening, serving the North Santiago population, especially the emigrants and traders from that region.
Closed in 2014, the space was opened on August 3, 2019, but went into operation on September 25 of the same year in its old facilities, in Achada Riba, in Assomada, Santa Catarina.
The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, who presided over the inauguration act, said at the time that the reopening of customs would solve the customs clearance in that location, stressing that it is an “important step that directly benefits emigrants”.
Recently, taking stock of the reopening of customs, the Mayor of Santa Catarina, José Alves Fernandes, stated that the service has served “very well” and has “largely solved” the problems of the citizens and traders of this region.
