Opanka urge musicians to support Appiatse reconstruction

Accra, Jan. 30, GNA – Ghanaian rapper Armstrong Affum popularly known in showbiz as ‘Opanka’ has urged his fellow musicians to support the course towards the reconstruction of Appiatse near Bogoso in the PresteaHuni-Valley Municipality of the Western Region, following an explosion at the community.

On Thursday January 20, 2022 the small town of Appiatse was ravaged by a massive explosion, which killed 14 people with more than 179 injured and hundreds of people displaced.

According to the multiple-award winning rapper, he was personally devastated by the severity of the damage caused and wants musicians to contribute to the Appiatse Support Fund established by the government.

« I first of all want to offer my condolences to all those that have lost their loved ones. We musicians have to come together and show love to the people of Appiatse. These are challenging moments for them and I think we can collaborate on one song to render our support.

« I know most of them listen to our music, so by doing so I think they would feel loved as they quest to get back to normalcy.

« We can also donate relief items to them and also contribute to the government support fund and I think it would go a long way to helping them, » he told GNA Entertainment in an interview.
