Post Minister Wants ECOWAS Harmonize Telecommunications

Monrovia, April 30 2017 (LINA) – Post and Telecommunications Minister Frederick Norkeh has stressed the need for telecommunications harmonization within the ECOWAS sub-region.
Minister Norkeh stated that improving the telecommunications sector will depend on technicians and technology advancement in the Information Communications Technology (ICT) sector of West Africa.
The Posts and Telecommunications minister made the call recently at the start of a two-day West Africa Telecommunications Regulators Assembly (WATRA) 14th Annual General Meeting of Conference of Regulators held in Monrovia.
He noted that the resolve by technicians within the telecommunications sector in the sub-region to harmonize communications will enhance investment in the West Africa sub-region.
He asserted that the appropriate, affordable and accessible form of communication for people within the sub-region should be considered.
Minister Norkeh said WATRA was established to harmonize telecommunications and improve investment in the ICT and communications sector of ECOWAS members states.
