PPAG presents over GH¢152,000.00 worth of equipment to Suhum Assembly

Gojiase(E/R), July 29, GNA-The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana(PPAG) has presented medical equipment valued at over GH¢ 152,000.00 to the Suhum Municipal Assembly for distribution to health facilities in the municipality.
The items were presented under the Protecting the lives of women in reproduction age project and would be distributed among 27 health facilities and benefit over 45 communities in the Suhum Municipality.
The four-year project, which started in 2018 is to increase the access of women and children to improve reproductive health services in the municipality.
The items presented include; one weighing scale with height, 15 gallons of ultra sound gel, four digital thermometer, a patient vital monitor, two nebulizer machine, three feotal dropler, eight delivery beds, five delivery set and a long list of other medical supplies.
The project is being implemented by PPAG and, the Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP) in collaboration with the Suhum Municipal Assembly and the Ministry of Health and is being funded by the Takidu Pharmaceutical Company of Japan.
Presenting the items, the Director General of PPAG, Ms Abena Adubea Amoah said the project has trained a lot of nurses, some other health personnel and health volunteers in the municipality.
She said the equipment were being presented to support the efforts of the trained personnel to ensure the success of the project.
The DG said the project was expected to improve reproductive health care for pregnant women and reduce teenage pregnancy in the Municipality.
Mrs Margaret Darko Darkwa, the Suhum Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) thanked PPAG and JOICFP for bringing the project to the Suhum Municipal area and advised communities to support the project by keeping the CHPS Compounds in the municipality clean.
Mrs Darkwa advised the people in the municipality to respect all the covid-19 safety protocols to help protect themselves and their communities.
Mr Kwame Ofosu, the Municipal Director of Health Services assured that the items would be used to ensure the success of the project.
