Luanda, 11/03/2019 (FAA)- The Angolan senior males Roller Hockey National Team last Sunday won the first African championship of this sport , after beating Mozambique by 5-3 in the third and last round of the competition , which took place in the Kilamba Multipurpose Pavilion, in Luanda.
Angola’s goals were scored by Nery, Big, André Senteno, Martin Payero and João Pinto, while for Mozambique scored Filipe Vaz, Mário Marinho and Bruno Pinto.
The Angolan squad, who thrashed Egypt 30 -0 in the first round, ended in the first position with four points, thus gaining the pass to Elite-8 World Cup, set to happen in July this year in Barcelona, Spain.
The second position was taken by Mozambique (twp points), followed by Egypt with no point.
The championship was disputed by three teams due to the desistance of South Africa from participating in the competition due o financial difficulties.
