Espargos, Aug 5 (Inforpress) – The new book by the Historian from Mindelo Daniel Pereira, entitled “Um Mar de Conflitos”, reaches the circle of readers in Sal, and should be presented Wednesday, August 11, by Júlio Rendall, in the Noble Hall of the City Hall.
This historical record about a striking Cabo Verdean personality entitled “Um Mar de Conflitos” is the plot of the latest work by Daniel Pereira.
With the seal of the Rosa de Porcelana publisher, the book of 744 pages, published in 2020, presents, according to the organization of the launch, a broad documentation had been collected by Marcelino Rezende Costa, Deputy Registrar of the Board of Finance of the Province of Cabo Verde of then, having as scope, serve as evidential support in his defense and, through it, going to a series of accusations against Manuel António Martins, an “inescapable” figure in the history of the Cabo Verdean archipelago in the first half of the 19th century.
It is considered that this book by historian Daniel Pereira contributes to “an important” reconstitution of the profile of this historical character.
Born in the city of Mindelo, São Vicente, in 1951, but raised in the city of Praia, since his 1st year old, Daniel António Pereira, author of the work, holds a degree in History from the Classical University of Lisbon and a career diplomat.
