Praia, Jul 22 (Inforpress) – The Figueiral Valley of Paul road is the most expensive construction of the package launched by Prime Minister José Ulisses Correia e Silva during the visit he ends today to the Santo Antão Island.
This road, which is only 1.5 kilometers long, is estimated at 119 million escudos, which means a cost of about 80 million escudos per kilometer, and should be executed in eight months, the same time period foreseen for the 10 kilometers from the Esponjeiro / Lagoa, road which are estimated at about 107 million escudos.
The price of the kilometer of road to the Figueiral do Paul valley has to do with the predicted difficulty for this construction, which increases the work that, for the local population, represents “the realization of a dream of several generations” of residents, said Correia e Silva.
The Prime Minister said at the time that the event held in Boca de Figueiral was not a ceremony for “laying of the first stone”, but of starting works, “so that stories of first stones are not repeated that have not had the second nor the third stones”.
