Praia, Dec 10 (Inforpress) – Praia’s Special Statute (EE) provides that the municipality is entitled to a share of 0.005% in State tax revenues not allocated to cover the costs of capital.
Speaking to Inforpress, from Dakar (Senegal), where he attended the third session of the “Cabo Verde Sucesso” gala, the Prime Minister said that EE also foresees the exceptional financing of “structuring projects” for the adaptation of the City of Praia to its function of capital with quality.
Asked what he expects from the MPs, as the proposal needs two thirds to pass in Parliament, Ulisses Correia e Silva believes that there is an understanding between the parliamentarians from the three parties, namely: the Movement for Democracy (MpD-ruling party), the African Independence Party of Cabo Verde (PAICV) and the opposition Cabo Verdean Independent and Democratic Union (UCID), both opposition.
“I hope the MPs will vote in favor of the bill,” Correia e Silva said. For the head of government, regarding compromises and advances, these, according to him, “will be made as long as they contribute to the improvement of the bill”.
