Accra, Feb 14, GNA – Subscribers of Africa’s leading Pay-TV service operator StarTimes, will watch Swedish side Malmo take on Premier League side Chelsea on Thursday night in the coastal town of Malmo of the Europa league round of 32.
Chelsea will be hoping to recover from a devastating 6-0 defeat to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City on Sunday afternoon at Etihad Stadium.
The atmosphere in the dressing room can hardly be at the lower level following such tough loss, which saw the Blues fall down to 6th place in the league ladder.
Can Maurizio Sarri find the way to motivate his lads to bring their best to Thursday’s first leg of the R32 Europa League tie against Malmo?
The Blues returned to Europa League for the first time since winning the competition back in 2012/13.
They did not have any troubles steaming their way to the top of Group L with five wins and one draw in six matches.
Chelsea shipped only three goals in the process. They are obviously massive favourites to advance past Malmo here, but who could back their win away at Swedbank Stadion at the odds of 1.30?
Sarri’s men were dreadful travellers in recent months. They lost four on the spin away from Stamford Bridge across competitions without scoring a single goal along the way.
The hosts clearly lack competitive matches coming into this highly important fixture.
The Allsvenskan season would not begin before April meaning Malmo’s previous competitive game dates back to mid-December last year when they saw off Besiktas 0-1 on the road to secure the knockout phase of Europa League.
It was only the second win of the campaign for Malmo who claimed no more than six points in five matches beforehand. They finished the previous domestic season in third place and can hardly be compared to the likes of Chelsea here.
The game would be live on Startimes at 20:00 GMT.
