Accra, Nov.30 GNA – Tochukwu Oluehi, number one goalkeeper of the national female football team of Nigeria, the Super Falcons, has stated that, the finals of the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) against South Africa, at the Accra Sports Stadium, on Saturday, will not be decided on penalties.
According to her, the Super Falcons are poised, well motivated and ready to win their ninth continental female trophy and are not ready to do so by penalties, but during regulation time.
« Our game with South Africa is not going to be easy because they beat us at the group stage, but we have corrected our mistakes.
« I don’t think tomorrow’s game would end in penalties, because the spirit in camp is high and even if it does go to penalties, I am determined to save more kicks, » she said.
She said the team has worked so hard getting to the finals and are coming into tomorrow’s game in full force and with the right concentration, they would be victors.
« We would need to have 100% concentration and focus, my defense line has helped me a lot and I know tomorrow, they would give out 100% concentration till we finish the game.
« The spirit in camp is very high because our Federation President visited us and the team is well motivated to win ».
Nigeria takes on South Africa in the final of the 11th biennial AWCON at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday 30th November, 2018.
